Since 1997, Story Inc has been creating visitor experiences of all shapes and sizes to help clients from across the museum, heritage, cultural and commercial sectors to help Tell their stories 

Our ultimate aim as a company is to make a positive difference – economic, social and cultural – to the communities in which we work.

Based in Wellington, New Zealand, Story Inc consults on and delivers projects all over the world.

We work by managing collaborative teams of specialist suppliers, such as writers, artists, designers, interactive developers, video and audio producers, specialist joiners and technical and lighting professionals.

Core Team

Story Inc is led by its two founding directors, James McLean and Steve La Hood.

Both Steve and James come from television backgrounds but branched into creating visitor experiences in 1997 with Golden Days, an immersive object theatre set in a junk shop inside Te Papa.

Since then, Steve and James have led Story Inc in the creation of many visitor experiences in many countries.
